I am not a big follower of Showbiz Talk Shows, but on a Sunday afternoon – where I am idled by lesser opportunities, social invites and where-to’s – I stay at home (cook good food) and tune in to ABS-CBN for ASAP Rocks and The Buzz. I surrender my cable rights on History, National Geographic, Discovery Channel, Animax, HBO, Star World, ETC & CNN and decide to toggle from ABS-CBN, GMA7 and TV5 ONLY for comparison, and see how far have Party Pilipinas and Showbiz Central (of GMA7) and Celebrity Samurai and Paparazzi (of TV5) leveled-up to the world-class and elite performances in ASAP Rocks; and the unbiased, carefully-thought-excellently-delivered opinions, and timely entertainment gossips & updates in The Buzz.
For the benefit of making my opinion as free-flowing & impartial as possible – I am such a big go-er to GMA7’s now defunct S.O.P. You might have guessed it by now. A go-er not because I love (or like to the very least) the network’s show, but because Martin Escudero was a main-stay until they have decided to reformat and give it a new kick. Party Pilipinas has made drastic changes and improvements but not in the level that would at least be worthy of good entertainment. A personal vendetta would be SOP’s extremely lighted stage and the many quick stops and snaps of images, however you call it, that burns my eyes. Thank heavens, Party Pilipinas was able to remedy that. I am grateful to S.O.P. (now Party Pilipinas) for the many avenues for an opportunity that made my being a fan worthwhile, but ASAP Rocks, is just ASAP Rocks. ASAP by itself, is a statement of Quality Entertainment.
Now, on with the subject of this blog.
The Sunday before yesterday’s, I was packed on meeting friends and former colleagues. Thankfully, @KrisAquinoSTD was tweeting about ASAP Rocks, Party Pilipinas and Paparazzi. Side note: for the many, especially those that he/she mentions – @KrisAquinoSTD’s tweets may come as very offensive and bashing. He/she hits way too below the belt and becomes extremely straight-forward. Some of his/her antiques and ‘least’ favorites include: Erik Santos, Piolo Pascual and Mel Tiangco. Read his/her tweets and have your own take.
